As a conductor of choirs and orchestras for the last 15 years, my profession has taken a toll on my neck and shoulders. A few years ago, I developed herniated discs in my neck, making my job very difficult because of the pain I was in. Working with Jose has been transformative for rebuilding my strength, and has provided a path for not only managing my injury but gaining strength and mobility I didn’t have before. Jose built me a personally tailored program, showing his vast knowledge of fitness and muscle function, which has helped me on the path toward long term relief and quality of life. I’m stronger than I’ve ever been, and am more informed and aware about my body thanks to our sessions.
Training with Jose has completely changed the way I approach fitness. Even after many years of playing soccer, I was stuck doing the same strength routines without intention. Jose introduced a purposeful style of training that combines strength, plyometrics, and endurance work to support both my performance on the field and my stamina during 12-hour nursing shifts. He also helped me understand the root of my lower back and knee pain by identifying hip flexion and strength imbalances. Since working to correct them, my pain has significantly improved and I feel stronger, more stable, and more confident in how I move. Jose pushes me, keeps me accountable, and has elevated my overall training in a way I didn’t realize I was missing. He’s the best!
I worked with Jose for several months to help me rehab my torn meniscus post surgery. I am a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and I feared after my injury I would never be able to return to the mats the same way again. I tried physical therapy but I felt like they did not truly understand my needs as an athlete. When I joined the gym, Jose took the time to help me diagnose exactly where my weaknesses were and what muscles I would need to strengthen in order to return to practicing safely. I had never been to the gym prior to working with Jose and I was very nervous and intimidated since I had no idea how to use the equipment. Jose was so knowledgeable. He taught me several variations of exercises. He taught me proper form which is something I was lacking. He taught me to feel comfortable using the machines in the gym. Above all, Jose helped me create and implement a plan to strengthen my muscles, even the small muscles I didn't know existed.Thanks to Jose I was able to return to training stronger than ever! Jose has been pivotal in helping me learn the sport of Powerlifting. His extensive knowledge of strength training and proper lifting form has led me to achieve PRs I never thought possible. Reaching 170lbs total through all my competitions. All of my muscle gains and confidence I have developed over the past 4 years have all been thanks to him!
